Festa Lirica Newyorkese (!)
Italian Language Seminar

Spring 2019

BEGINS March!!!
7 weeks : Tuesday evenings from 7:15--9:15 PM

“I am really enjoying the class and you are so easily able to assess all of our different levels and make us comfortable with it.” --Stacey Canterbury

Fee: $250 for 14 hours; 4 persons minimum in the group, max 6.
Survival & fun Italian--we'll focus on singers' needs: speaking, reading, pronunciation (NOT diction); practical usage, verbs ('cuz you can't say NULLA without 'em) and special materials provided. We may cook in Italiano for our final class dinner! AND vino will be part of our curriculum!

What’s NEW: If desired by anyone in the class, we can dedicate some class time to do some singing in Italian. Could be your own rep. or work on recits. or Italian art songs: Tosti, Bellini, etc.

For anyone who's not sure if they’re a beginner or not really comfortable speaking yet!

You will come away with having learned some functional Italian that will make thinking (aka singing) in Italian easier. You'll be on the road to really speaking it so that connection to your characters will be better. Not to mention easier memorization, facilitated understanding of poetic intentions, etc.

Being led by a bilingual opera coach will make these classes far more useful to singers than any other school. The more effort you put in, the more you'll get out of it. There are several books we'll use in the class as well. They are reasonably priced and readily available.

This series will be low cost and high energy; better prices and smaller classes than in any other language school in Manhattan. You will take a short placement quiz before beginning the course. Fee: $250/7 weeks; 4 persons minimum in the group, max 6.
